What We Do
Growing Minds Learning Center (GMLC) offers the highest quality of intensive, research-based behavioral treatment for children and young adults between the ages of 20 months through adulthood with autism spectrum and related disorders. Growing Minds provides comprehensive services to children and their families in their homes and in Growing Minds clinics throughout Kentucky.
Consultation may occur in school, home and or community settings to help with either an individual or group/class need. Training may be available for individual staff members, parents, siblings, or for entire school districts. The training of single staff members and or parents will be designed specifically for the student/individual they are working with.
Our primary focus is to increase student achievement in the areas of academic, adaptive, social and communication skills by utilizing proven research-based methods. Growing Minds Learning Centers is dedicated to the advancement of positive behavior support practices and hopes to share behavior and educational principles with families and communities to ensure students play an active role in society.
Growing Minds is a ChanceLight® Behavioral Health company.
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Services
Applied Behavior Analysis
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a systematic process to improve socially significant behavior. Growing Minds staff members work closely with parents and educators to develop customized ABA therapy programs and provides training and supervision necessary for high-quality, consistent teaching and behavioral intervention.
ABA programs are for clients who need intensive support. All programs are data based, designed for individual need, and monitored closely to best benefit your child. GMLC also offers a consultative program for families who prefer less intensive services and more consultative supports.
Positive Behavior Support Services
Our therapists teach positive replacement behaviors to reduce problematic behaviors using various treatment strategies. Behavior support services include parent training, teacher training and training for everyone in the child’s environment.
Community Living Supports
Community Living Supports (CLS) services include socialization experiences with community members and peer groups, training in activities of daily living to promote independence and participation in community activities.
Respite services provide time for caregivers to “take a break” from the demands of being a caregiver of an individual with special needs.
Speech therapy includes activities to address issues that affect a child’s ability to communicate. Activities focus on verbal and non-verbal communication, understanding language and social skills.
Occupational therapy services include activities to improve hand-eye coordination, focus, attention, fine/gross motor skills, sensory integration and the ability to take care of themselves.
Insurance and Funding Options
Most of Growing Minds Learning Center’s services are covered by private insurance, the Michelle P Waiver program, TRICARE and other payer sources. We can help you determine whether you have these benefits or how to obtain them. Please contact us for more information.
